EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICE

The DOT requires companies offering hazardous materials for transport to have l Emergency Response Telephone number on shipping paper where information can be obtained immediately from live person knowledge of the material's hazards. OSHA requires an emergency number on all MSDS's where emergency information can be provided in the event of an incident with a hazardous material. This is the basis of the Hazardous Communication Standard.
