HAZARDOUS MATERIAL/DANGEROUS GOODS: DOCUMENTATION

Do you know if your cargo or shipment is HAZARDOUS or DANGEROUS? "Yes? * NO? * MAYBE? * I DON'T KNOW"! Are you a THREAT to yourself or to others? Do you know the pertaining Regulations, or where to review or to consult them? Is the shipment traveling solely within the US' Air, Road, Rail or Ocean system (DOT Regulations)? Is it an International Air shipment (DOT plus IATA/ ICAO Regulations)? Is it an International Ocean shipment (DOT plus IMO/IMDG Regulations)? Is there a specific law, rule, regulation, requirement and/or limitation or an exception or additional documentation requirement? Additionally, a HAZMAT/DG Declaration, i.e. a Straight Bill of Lading, an IATA Air Transport Declaration, an IMO or IMDG Multimodal Declaration, must accompany all HAZMAT/DG shipments. Each mode of travel has its' own HAZMAT/DG shipment document. In order to legally complete and sign these referenced documents, you must by law, be trained and tested. In addition, training includes knowledge of how to properly address (provide correct Shipper and Consignee), properly attach UN labels and UN identification markings and requirements. Failure to be compliant in training and document preparation and markings and labeling is a violation of law.
